The Dish and LNB, which does not come with the stand, is attached to the stand with a short post. This post is keyed so when moving to a new location, removal and replacement of the dish does not change its orientation to the stand's azimuth readings.

Having a short post permanently attached to the dish allows for the quick removable of the dish for separate storage while traveling. The dish and LNB are the most sensitive to damage therefore it is recommended that the dish be stored on something soft such as the bed when traveling.

Depending on storage space, the rest of the stand can be stored as a unit or can quickly be separated. The stand can be taken apart without tools.  When calculating space for storage, remember the largest piece is the base which is 17 by 14 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches.
