Setting
the correct Azimuth is quick & easy. The stand is a
compass with a large Azimuth display allowing the dish to be
set to the Azimuth location required by the control
unit.
With
built-in gauges for the Horizontal and Skew/Tilt, these
settings can also be set quickly.
Once
the dish and the stand have been calibrated the gauges on the
dish antenna itself should not be changed.
"PDQ
Signal" is made of molded nylon-6 with some parts
having glass added to the nylon for addition strength. This
allows the stand to be lightweight yet very strong.
It
sets close to the ground using weights as a counter balance to
the LNB. Using the weighs as a counter balance allows the
stand to be very stable, have a smaller footprint and capable
of withstanding strong winds.
During
strong winds some flexing in the mast will be visible.
However, because of the ability to attain a strong signal,
picture quality is not normally affected by this
flexing.
This is not recommended
for the small DirecTV round 101 Satellite antenna.
That dish only points at one satellite making it very easy to
set up and to locate a good signal. Because of it's light
weight and size Delsand LLC recommends a less costly stand,
such as a small tripod. However, if you are
going to use the round dish from DirecTV with a Delsand LLC
stand order the Std with spacer Model . A special
spacer must be used for the post to fit the
bracket.
This model does not work on the
SlimLine HD 5 satellite as this dish requires a post with a
larger OD. The 2" OD Model has the post with a
larger OD.
Due to the shipping cost the weights are
NOT included. Delsand LLC recommends
two 5 pound or heaver dumbbells be used, holders for this type
of weight is built into the stand. The weights can be
purchased at most stores that carry sporting or exercise
equipment.
