Getting
the correct setting to aim your
dish!
NOTE:
Dish Network does not display the Azimuth, Elevation, and Skew
setting on the control unit’s setup page. You need to use the
setting by zip code found in the back of the Dish 1000.2
Instructions Manual.

The
settings from the Systems Control Unit’s setup menu are, at
times, not accurate. The local installers often use elevation,
skew/tilt and azimuth settings that are quite different from
the ones shown in the setup menu.
If
you are having any problems finding signals using the
Control's setup menu’s values, it is strongly suggested that
you check them with Dish
alignment with Dishpointer
.
Delsand
LLC recomends DishPointer.com to
help calculate the correct settings because it's a
Dish Pointing Calculator that seems to be very accurate. This
calculator has Multi-LNB setups for Dish Network, DirecTV and
Starchoice to name a few. Start by entering the
location of where you are going to setup the stand,
either with zip code or latitude, longitude, or by moving the
map to your location. Next select the type of Dish
antenna, for example DirecTV’s 3LNB Multi or 5LNB SlimLine HD,
Dish Network’s 500 plus or 1000.2 HD, Starchoice 107W &
111W, the program will display the correct
Elevation, Azimuth and skew. Note: Use the
(magn.) Azimuth , not the (true).
